]]> Multiple outlets confirm that a new Planet of the Apes movie is officially in the works. 

20th Century Fox has teamed with Maze Runner filmmaker Wes Ball to develop another installment of the apes’ saga. 

It is not yet known whether the project, which is reportedly in very early stages of development, will pick up where Matt Reeves’ War for the Planet of the Apes left off or not. 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes was the last film in the most recent trilogy of the successful franchise while the original film made its debut in 1968. 

According to Variety, the new film in the franchise mark the first major IP from the Fox library that Disney is developing on its own since the Fox-Disney merger.
