Mark Hamill is about to give children nightmares.

The Star Wars actor has signed on to provide the voice of Chucky, which still gives adults in their twenties and thirties the chills.

Orion Pictures is rebooting the series about the evil doll who starred as the main character of the Child’s Play slasher films which first came out in 1988.

The last film in the series was released in 2017, but the Lars Klevberg-directed remake is not expected to be connected in any way.

Hamill will lend his voice to the doll that is given as a gift to Andy, played by Gabriel Bateman, by this single mother played by Aubrey Plaza.

“We feel incredibly lucky to have an icon creating a new take on an iconic character,” producer David Katzenberg said in a statement. “Mark is a gifted actor and celebrated vocal performer, and he’s approached this challenge with incredible energy and commitment.”

This will not be the first time that the 67-year-old voices Chucky as he previously lent his pipes during an episode of Robot Chicken where the sinister toy appeared.

Child’s Play opens on June 21. We’re already terrified.

But, it appears as though Mark Hamill could. The Star Wars actor has revealed that the former Governor of California asked him for advice when he was starting out in Hollywood. His advice, though, was less than sound.

“I told him to lose his accent for a wider range of roles & to change his last name since no one could pronounce it. He did the opposite & became one of the biggest stars EVER.”

The Terminator star took it in his stride and reminded the 66-year-old that he was right at the time — but that he’s just a badass.

“Your advice was absolutely correct under any normal circumstances, and those were the rules back then. I just happen to be a rule-breaker.”

And we’re so happy he was!

Star Wars: Episode IX still hasn’t begun production, but there is already a major buzz around the movie. The latest has been that fans started a petition, which already gathered more than 11,000 signatures, for Meryl Streep to step into the role of Princess Leia and replace the late Carrie Fisher. According to the rumors, the character of Princess Leia is supposed to play a big role in Star Wars: Episode IX, but the original draft of the script had to undergo major rewrites after Fisher passed away.

In a recent interview, Collider decided to ask Mark Hamill, who plays the role of Luke Skywalker in the space saga, to give his own opinion on this matter, and here is what the 66-year-old actor had to say.

“I don’t know what the specific plans were for that character, but since Han was more prominent in VII, Luke was more prominent in VIII, we assumed that Leia would be more prominent in IX, especially with the dynamic of Kylo Ren being her son,” Hamill said. “I think it would be tough recasting because she’s so indelibly linked to that character. They’ve already ruled out the idea of computer generating her performance like they did with Peter Cushing, so gee, that’s got to be a really, not an insurmountable problem, but … I know the script had been developed enough so when we lost her they had to go back to square one. She’s irreplaceable as far as I’m concerned.”

Principal photography for Star Wars: Episode IX will begin in July 2018, with the release date being scheduled for December 20, 2019. J.J. Abrams will direct and serve as a co-writer with Chris Terrio after Colin Trevorrow exited the project in 2017.
