How did he managed to do it? It turns out Robert Plant himself has allowed the inclusion of the songs after he watched the movie.

Cowperthwaite and producer Ridley Scott wrote to the band members, inviting them to watch the movie and asking them to waiver their royalties.

Plant did just that and wrote them that while the film was a tough one to sit through, it was beautiful and strong. He wrote that he felt the positioning of the two songs was poignant, sensitive and beautiful.

The Friend is based on a real-life story, and it sees Dakota Johnson playing Nicole Teague, a woman who died from ovarian cancer at the age of 36. Her friend Dane (Jason Segal) moves in with her family prior to her death to help out. Teague was a big Led Zeppelin fan.

“You’ve just got to face facts. We’ve gone past the tenth anniversary of the O2 [show], where we managed to do one serious concert,” – said Page in an interview with Planet Rock. “That’s the only thing that we’ve done for such a long time, so I very much doubt we’ll do anything else. I really think the time has gone.”

As a small consolation, Page revealed that we will be getting more previously unheard music from the band in the future.

“I can’t give the game away, but there’s a recording that’s another multi-track that we’ll release,” – he added. “It’s so different to all the other things that are out there. It’s another view compared to How The West Was Won or The Song Remains The Same. I’m looking forward to people hearing that. There’s a lot of stuff to come out, a number of releases. I’d like to say that they’ll be coming out over the next 10 years. There’s more to come for sure.”

Finally, there will be a book about Led Zeppelin coming in 2018.

“I’m really pleased that we’re all doing it collectively because there are so many other people doing books.” – said Page. “There’s about ten that I know of that are coming, which is pretty ridiculous! It will be really good to have an authoritative book, where the band is actually contributing to it rather than being ripped off.”

So there you have it. Although we are not getting the live shows, at least something is happening to keep us engaged.
