Disney Channel’s live-action Kim Possible movie is bringing back two familiar voices. 

Christy Carlson Romano and Patton Oswalt voice starred in the original animated series, which debuted in 2002 and ran for 87 episodes. Variety now confirms that the duo has been tapped to star in the upcoming film. Oswalt will reprise the role of super villain Professor Dementor, while Romano who voiced the titular teen super-spy in the original while will appear in a cameo role.

The 34-year-old actress confirmed the news during D23’s Saturday Morning on the Lot event on Saturday and said “I can’t say too much about my involvement yet, but I’m very excited to help usher in the strong, empowered female character I helped bring to life, to a new generation,” she told ET. “And I’m equally thrilled to see what the original fans think!”

Both Oswalt and Romano took to social media to share their excitement, with Oswalt writing on Twitter “Yep! Can’t wait for you guys to see this!” and Romano retweeting him and adding, “Yay! Can’t wait!”

Oswalt and Romano are joining previously announced cast including Sadie Stanley as Kim Possible, Alyson Hannigan as Dr. Ann (Mom) Possible, and Connie Ray as Kim’s grandmother, Nana Possible. Rounding up the cast are Todd Stashwick and Taylor Ortega who will portray villains Drakken and Shego respectively.

Penning the script are series’ creators Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley along with Josh Cagan. McCorkle and Schooley will also executive produce with Zanne Devine.

Alyson Hannigan is set to play the mom in Disney’s version of the animated hit, Kim Possible.

The comedy-adventure flic is following an everyday high school girl, Kim Possible, who, in her spare time, is using her brain, heart, and expertise, saves the world from villains. 

Hannigan playing Dr. Ann Possible (aka Mom Possible) joins previously announced Sadie Stanley as Kim Possible and Sean Giambrone as Ron Stoppable, Kim’s best friend. 

Also joining the cast are Todd Stashwick and Taylor Ortega, who will play villains Drakken and Shego, respectively; Ciara Wilson has been cast as new high school student Athena, and Erika Tham will play Kim’s childhood frenemy, Bonnie.

This Kim Possible movie will be co-directed and co-produced by Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky. Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley from the original series are co-writing the script with Josh Cagan. The executive producers are McCorkle, Schooley and Zanne Devine. 

The film is scheduled to premiere during 2019.

The series received critical acclaim during its run, with critics praising the show’s dialogs, characters, animation, and humor. During its original run, two animated spinoffs, Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time and Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama, were also produced.
