The Grammy Awards are coming back this winter to honor the best albums of the past year, and the list of nominees is finally in. Beyoncé topped the list with nine nominations, followed by Kendrick Lamar with eight and Harry Styles, Adele, and Brandi Carlile with seven nods.

All of these artists are nominated for album of the year, one of the night’s most important honors. Beyoncé’s Renaissance, Lamar’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, Styles’ Harry’s House, Adele’s 30, and Carlile’s In These Silent Days will be competing against the likes of Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti and Lizzo’s Special.

When it comes to song and record of the year, another two major categories at this ceremony, the field includes most of the same artists. Adele’s “Easy on Me”, Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul”, Harry Styles’ “As It Was”, Lizzo’s “About Damn Time”, and Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part 5” are some of the tracks in the running for both awards.

As for the rest of the nominees, Mary J. Blige, Future, and The-Dream scored six nods each, and they’re followed by Jay-Z, Doja Cat, and Lizzo with five. The winners will be announced on February 5, 2023, when Grammy Awards are set to take place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

The Super Bowl LVI halftime show never disappoints, and this year’s performance was as unforgettable as it gets. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige took the stage to deliver an amazing show that celebrates old-school hip-hop in its full glory.

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg kicked things off with their collaboration “The Next Episode” before delivering an epic cover of 2Pac’s “California Love”. They were followed by the guest performer 50 Cent, who gave us one of the show’s biggest viral moments with his song “In Da Club”.

Mary J. Blige was one of the show’s shiniest stars, and her performance of “Family Affair” and “No More Drama” was one for the books. She was followed by Kendrick Lamar, who represented the new generation of hip-hop with his songs “M.A.A.D City” and “Alright”.

Lamar joined Eminem as he entered the stage to perform “Forgot About Dre”. The most talked-about moment of the entire show came during Eminem’s song “Lose Yourself” and he ended up taking the knee at the end of his performance. The five headliners then closed the show with a joint rendition of “Still D.R.E.”

The Super Bowl LVI took place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on February 13th, with the Los Angeles Rams being crowned as the winners.

Just in case you’ve never heard of Kendrick Lamar, you should know that he is a Grammy award-winning rapper.

And Pulitzer Prize winner.

Yes, you read that right.

The 30 year old was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Music for his 4th studio album DAMN, which has sold over 3.1 million units since it was released in April 2017.

The recognition also marks the first time that the Pulitzer jury has honored work outside the categories of classical or jazz music.

The irony of the prestigious honor has not been lost on Kendrick’s fans who pointed out that the album did not claim Album of the Year among the 5 Grammys it received at this year’s ceremony.

Either way, we know Kendrick is known for being “Humble.”

Coachella was undoubtedly the place to be last weekend.

The annual music festival in now in its 19th year, with members of the public and celebrities continuing to flock to the Empire Polo Club in California to soak up the sun and good vibes.

While the line-up for the first Coachella weekend of 2018 already boasts massive names like The Weeknd, Beyoncé, Eminem, Kygo, SZA, Jamiroquai, Cardi B, Migos, and Portugal the Man, there were some surprise performances.

Last year’s headline act, Kendrick Lamar, surprised the crowd on Friday when he came on stage during SZA’s set to perform “Doves in the Wind” and “All the Stars,” which featured in Black Panther.

Renowned DJ Kygo, was joined for his set by Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx who lent his vocals to a rendition of Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing.”

And Carly Rae Jepsen may have given her number to Bleachers who called her up on stage for “Hate That You Know Me” and “Alfie’s Song (Not So Typical Love Song),” from the Love, Simon soundtrack.

We can’t wait to hear what other surprises are in store.
