We get by with a little help from our friends.

Almost 50 years since The Beatles went their separate ways, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have recorded a song together.

And what more, the song was written by another of their friends and former band mates, John Lennon.

“I just loved this song. I sang it the best that I could. I do well up when I think of John this deeply. And I’ve done my best. We’ve done our best,” Ringo said of the track “Grow Old with Me,” which will feature on his upcoming album What’s My Name.

“The other good thing is that I really wanted Paul to play on it, and he said yes. Paul came over and he played bass and sings a little bit on this with me. So John’s on it in a way. I’m on it and Paul’s on it. It’s not a publicity stunt. This is just what I wanted. And the strings that Jack [Douglas] arranged for this track, if you really listen, they do one line from ‘Here Comes The Sun.’ So in a way, it’s the four of us.”

What’s My Name is out on October 25th.

Imagine a movie all about John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

The pair met in 1966 at a London art gallery, where Yoko was showing abstract art.

The Beatle asked his future bride about her piece, “Painting to Hammer a Nail In”, and if he could do just that by hammering a nail into the painting. She asked him to pay five shillings per nail, but the two then agreed that John would pay imaginary money to hammer an imaginary nail.

Their engagement blossomed into a marriage which ultimately led to John leaving the fabulous four.

John and Yoko remained united (except for a period of 2 years in the mid-70s) until the singer’s assassination in 1980.

38 years after his death, Yoko is collaborating with Michael de Luca Productions to immortalize her and John’s love story on screen.

Big Little Lies director, Jean-Marc Vallee, will helm the film which is being produced by Universal Pictures, as well as rewrite the screenplay with Anthony McCarten.

All we are saying is give it a chance.
