Jeymes Samuel directed the film, which centers around outlaw Nat Love (Majors) seeking revenge on his enemy Rufus Buck (Elba) after he’s released from prison. Love gets his gang together to seek revenge on the man who killed his parents long ago.

Among the gang are Mary (Zazie Beetz), Bill Pickett (Edi Gathegi), Jim Beckwourth (R.J. Cyler), and an additional ally who ends up being an adversary. Fighting with Buck are Trudy Smith (Regina King) and Cherokee Bill (LaKeith Stanfield).

Also starring in the film are Delroy Lindo, Danielle Deadwyler, and Deon Cole. 

The Harder They Fall was penned by Samuel with Boaz Yakin. Samuel produced the script with Shawn Carter (aka Jay-Z), Lawrence Bender, and James Lassiter with G. Mac Brown serving as executive producer.

The film will be released in theaters in October and it will premiere on Netflix on November 4. Check out the trailer below.

The man deemed Sexiest Man Alive by PEOPLE has been engaged to Sabrina Dhowre since February 2018, and the couple have now said “I do.”

The Luther actor proposed to the former Canadian beauty queen while at the premiere of his film Yardie, which marked his directorial debut.

For their nuptials, the pair jetted off to Morocco, where family and friends joined them for a lavish three-day affair.

Proceedings kicked off on Thursday night, when guests got to experience the wonders of Marrakesh at dinner with the theme “colors of the souk.” It contrasted the all-white party that was held at the Mandarin Oriental on Saturday.

But between the two parties was the important business of Sabrina walking down the aisle to meet her groom.

Thanks to British Vogue, we will get to hear all about it in their July issue, but in the meantime we can swoon over the pictures, which include Idris in a suit by Ghanaian-British designer Ozwald Boateng and Sabrina dressed by Vera Wang.

No word on if Idris, who is also known as DJ Big Driis, laid down a few tracks at the wedding.

It has been just over a year since the #MeToo movement came into existence, with many men in Hollywood being exposed for sexual harassment and other male stars criticizing the campaign for dividing the sexes.

During a recent interview with The Sunday Times, the Luther star was asked whether it is difficult being a man in the industry amidst the current #MeToo climate.

“It’s only difficult if you’re a man with something to hide,” replied the 46-year-old.

Idris’ response has been praised by women in the industry, including Shonda Rhimes and Ava DuVernay.

The Grey’s Anatomy creator retweeted the article with a simple, “See?”

Each year the Hollywood Foreign Press Association selects the offspring of a Hollywood royal and bestows on them the honor of being named the Golden Globe Ambassador — formerly known as Miss Golden Globe.

Past recipients have included Rumer Willis (daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore), Dakota Johnson (whose parents are Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson), Corinne Foxx (whose father is Jamie Foxx), Sylvester Stallone’s 3 daughters, Scarlet, Sistine, and Sophia, and most recently, Dwayne Johnson’s daughter, Simone Garcia Johnson.

The title means that the chosen lady stands on stage and hands out the statuettes to the winners of that year’s Golden Globe Awards.

The role has now been adapted to allow for gender-neutrality, as well as the commitment to philanthropy on the part of the HFPA.

2019’s Golden Globe Ambassador, Isan Elba, intends using her title to bring awareness to mental health.

“Mental health, specifically among African Americans and my peers in particular, is something I really want to be more vocal about,” says the 16-year-old. “There’s this perceived stigma and I’ve seen friends struggle. We need to empower young people to not be afraid to ask for help.”

The Turn Up, Charlie actor is in talks to the join the big screen adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical, Cats.

The production tells the story of the Jellicle cats who are preparing for the Jellicle Ball where one of them will ascend to the “Heaviside Layer” and be reincarnated as one of their 9 lives.

The project has already signed Jennifer Hudson to star as Grizabella, while Sir Ian McKellen of Lord of the Rings will play Gus the Theatre Cat and Taylor Swift and James Corden have also joined in as-yet-unannounced roles.

The latest star to join the film is Idris who will be portraying the “villain”, Macavity. The character kidnaps the Jellicle leader, Old Deuteronomy, and attempts to abduct Demeter who is one of two cats who sings about him.

Cats is currently in pre-production with 19 December 2019 release date.

Rumors of Elba cast as the suave superspy have been circulating for years, but were kicked into high gear after a UK based tabloid The Daily Star reported that Antoine Fuqua has spoken to Bond producer Barbara Broccoli saying it’s time for an ethnic minority actor to play the lead and name-dropped Elba. 

If that wasn’t enough, on Sunday, Elba continued to taunt fans, hinting that he might actually succeed Daniel Craig in the 007 franchise. The 45-year-old British actor took to Twitter, first posting a cryptic selfie captioned with, “my name’s Elba, Idris Elba,” an unmistakable reference to the iconic Bond line.

This kick-started the rumor mill into even high gear, but much to fans’ disappointment, he later tweeted, “Don’t believe the HYPE” next to an image of the rap group Public Enemy. 

According to E! News Elba said in 2014 that if the role were offered to him, he would gladly accept. If this is to happen, it would mean that Elba would be the first ever black actor to step into the suave spy shoes. However, he did address the fact the Bond is a white Scott telling NPR in 2011, “I just don’t want to be called the first black James Bond. Do you understand what I’m saying? Sean Connery wasn’t the Scottish James Bond and Daniel Craig wasn’t the blue-eyed James Bond. So if I played him, I don’t want to be called the black James Bond.”
