Hilary will be donning a spacesuit as plays an astronaut in a new series from Netflix.

Loosely inspired by an article in Esquire in 2014, Away follows an American astronaut named Emma Green, played by the Million Dollar Baby actress, who leaves her husband and teenage daughter behind to command an international space crew embarking upon a dangerous mission to Mars.

Jessica Goldberg of The Path will serve as showrunner, while Hilary will also be an executive producer on the 10-part series.

While no date has been announced as yet for Away, Netflix has described the show as one of hope, humanity, and how we need one another if we are to achieve impossible things
