]]>Coltrane’s agent Belinda Wright confirmed he died at a hospital in Larbert, Scotland on October 14. She described him as a “unique talent” and asked the public to respect his family’s privacy at this distressing time.
“For me personally I shall remember him as an abidingly loyal client. As well as being a wonderful actor, he was forensically intelligent, brilliantly witty and after 40 years of being proud to be called his agent, I shall miss him,” said Wright.
Many of Coltrane’s past collaborators honored his legacy on social media, including Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright, and comedians Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, among others.
Despite being best known as Hagrid from the Harry Potter series, Coltrane established himself as one of Britain’s most prolific performers long before being cast in this role. He also starred in the James Bond series as Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky and won several BAFTA TV Awards for his role in the crime drama Cracker.

]]>Reboot fever has been at its peak over the past two years, with everything from television to film series being redone.
And, as much as it may pain the fandom, Daniel believes Harry Potter will one day, too, fall under the reboot spell.
The 29-year-old actor played the titular character throughout all eight films, having been cast in the role at age 11.
8 years after his last foray as the teenage wizard in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2, the Miracle Workers star thinks a reboot of the series based on J.K. Rowling’s books is unavoidable.
“I’m sure there will be some other version of it; I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’m gonna see in my lifetime — we’ve already got a few more,” Daniel said in an interview with IGN, referring to the actors who have continued his legacy in the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
“It will be interesting to see how long those films stay. It feels like there’s a sacredness around them at the moment, but that’ll go, the shine will wear off at some point. It’ll be interesting if they reboot them and just do the films again or do a series; I’m fascinated to watch.”
We hope it’s not too soon….

]]>The actor was a mere 12 years old when he starred as Ron Weasley in the first Harry Potter film — a series for which he will always be known, even as a now-30-year-old.
“There were definitely times when I thought about leaving,” he told The Guardian. “Filming Harry Potter was a massive sacrifice; working from such a young age for such long periods and I definitely remember thinking during one extended break, ‘This whole thing is so all-consuming, do I really want to go back? Maybe it’s just not for me.’ I guess I was probably just being a teenager.”
The Brit has stuck mostly to TV since concluding his time in one of the world’s most successful franchises, starring in Sick Note, Snatch, and having just signed on to star in M. Night. Shyamalan’s next project.
“I peaked pretty early, but I’m fine with that. It would be ridiculous to think that you can replicate that level of success. It’s always going to be a challenge, but I’m kind of enjoying that. It’s quite fun to surprise people.”
We look forward to what’s next up his sleeve.

J.K. Rowling, the author behind the magical series and its prequels — of which she is also the screenwriter — has urged fans to remain tight-lipped regarding Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Although the film only comes out on November 16th, screenings will be held on Sunday, with fans receiving badges which say #ProtectTheSecrets.

Star of the film, Eddie Redmayne, has also urged confidentiality, saying the sequel is filled with Easter Eggs and other spoilers.
But the biggest secret may have (almost) been spilled by the author herself who teased some very exciting news on Twitter…
True. I can’t wait for you all to get caught up, because I’m already one story on and it’s killing me not to be able to discuss CERTAIN THINGS. https://t.co/3Sz1RArqG3
