]]>Series stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin will be joined by their co-stars Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, June Diane Raphael, Brooklyn Decker, Baron Vaughn and Ethan Embry for the virtual event raising awareness for Meals on Wheels’ COVID-19 Relief Program.
“While we’re sitting here afraid, unsure and isolated, we wanted to come together and do some good,” creator and episode scribe Marta Kauffman told Deadline.
She continued: “Our cast is all in and super excited. And Netflix and Skydance have been particularly supportive. As far as giving the fans a peek into Season seven, we figured more people would tune in to new content and it would, hopefully, be a draw for fans of Grace and Frankie. The hope is: more eyes, more money raised for Meals on Wheels.”

]]>The streaming service has decided to renew Grace and Frankie for a seventh season — although it will be its last.
Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin star as the titular characters who forge an unbreakable friendship after their husbands announce that they are in love with one another.
“We are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though final, season,” the actresses said in a statement.
“We’re so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well! We’ll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we’ll still be around. We’ve outlasted so many things — just hope we don’t outlast the planet.”
The final season of the series will consist of 16 episodes and make it Netflix’s longest-running show.

]]>Grace and Frankie stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as two women whose lives are turned upside down when their husbands (Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) reveal they are gay and are leaving their wives for each other.
ET reports that Richie’s character will be a quirky pop star who, according to costume designer Allyson Fanger, is “an interesting character”. “It’s a little anime-ish, but she can carry it! She can do anything,” Fanger said. “At the table read, she was so funny. She really flowed so well with the cast.”
Richie currently stars on Tina Fey’s cable news comedy, Great News, as the delightfully vapid co-host of the fictional news program, The Breakdown.
Grace and Frankie will return to Netflix in 2019.

]]>“I assumed I wouldn’t live very long and that I would die lonely and an addict of some sort,” Fonda told the publication. “I didn’t think if I did live this long, that I would be vibrant and healthy and still working. I’m grateful.”
Fonda was born in 1937 to Henry Fonda and Frances Ford Brokaw. Her mother suffered from mental illness and committed suicide when she was just 12 years old.
Despite suffering a great loss as a child, the actress said there are many things to be grateful for today.
“I’m thankful that I’ve gotten better over the 80 years,” she said. “I’m less judgmental. I’m forgiving. It wasn’t always true. I’ve really worked hard to get better as a human being.”
Recently, Fonda has received praises for her role in Netflix’s Grace and Frankie, which earned Emmy nods in 2016 and 2017. She plays Grace alongside Lily Tomlin’s Frankie.
