The new trailer for the upcoming monster reboot of The Invisible Man is here.

The new trailer dives deeper into the film’s story and sees Elisabeth Moss’s character Cecilia Kass try and fight off the invisible man, aka her wealthy and brilliant scientist boyfriend (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), who faked his own death and discovered how to become invisible.

The Invisible Man writer-director Leigh Whannell spoke with Entertainment Weekly of the filming process: “The interesting thing was that I was constantly shooting these empty rooms, and empty corridors, and there’s something a bit uncinematic about that. I mean, when you make a movie, the idea is that you put people in the frame — you put something in the frame. When you’re shooting nothing, it goes against the grain of every cinematic instinct you have!”

The Invisible Man hits theaters February 28th.

Oscars so diverse.

You may remember back in 2016 when the Academy Awards nominees all looked a little similar.

The 20 names announced as nominees among the four main acting categories were all Caucasian, prompting allegations of a lack of diversity within The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The incident spurred the campaign #OscarsSoWhite, which in turn pushed The Academy to transform its membership.

That practice is being followed through in the announcement of its latest batch of members.

Of the 842 industry professionals who have been invited to join The Academy, 50% are female and 29% are non-white.

They include big names such as Lady Gaga, Claire Foy, Sterling K. Brown, Mark Ronson, Jamie Bell, Jennifer Ehle, Tom Holland, Damian Lewis, Elisabeth Moss, Archie Panjabi, Amanda Peet, and Alexander Skarsgard.

The new additions have likely caused the number of members to surpass 9,000, while 8,000 will be eligible to vote in the upcoming Oscars next February.

The revolution is under his eye.

For two seasons, Offred (Elisabeth Moss) has lived under the oppression of Gilead while silently planning her escape. And now, the official trailer for the third season of The Handmaid’s Tale has given us an idea of her next plan.

Season two of the Hulu show, based on the Margaret Atwood novel, ended with Offred (aka June) making a choice that confused some and frustrated many.

Season three looks likely to focus on June’s role in leading the resistance and the forthcoming revolution…

“If I’m going to change things, I’m going to need allies,” she says.

It appears as though cold-hearted Serena Waterford may have finally let the ice crack and will assist Offred in her mission.

As the tag line says: witness the birth of a revolution.

The fruit will be blessed when The Handmaid’s Tale returns on June 5th.

The Invisible Man may not be a man, after all.

Universal is producing a screen adaptation of H.G. Wells’ science fiction novel, which was previously adapted for screen in 1933.

The novel follows a scientist who manages to manipulate the body’s refractive index, enabling him to become invisible.

The project, by Upgrade director Leigh Whannell, was originally set to star Johnny Depp.

The Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald actor was due to take on the lead role of Griffin, but will no longer have any involvement in the project.

It seems the studio is taking a rather different turn in its new approach as Elisabeth Moss of The Handmaid’s Tale is said to be in negotiations for the lead.

The film will form part of Universal’s new take on its Dark Universe which previously included the box office bomb The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise.
