]]>The world waited patiently as news emerged that Catherine Middleton had gone into labor at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, where she had delivered her two previous children.
Hours later, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stood outside the hospital with their new bundle of joy, whom they later named Louis Arthur Charles.
That all took place a year ago, on April 23rd, with Prince Louis now celebrating his first birthday.
As is tradition, birthday portraits of the member of the monarchy have been shared with the public — but this time they have been taken by the toddler’s doting mother.
Earlier this month Kate whipped out her professional camera at their family home in Norfolk and took photos of her adorable son wearing a maroon sweater and another in a denim-blue sweater with a puppy that is almost as cute as Louis himself!
Happy birthday, little prince!

]]>Kensington Palace confirmed that Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine, had gone into labour on Monday morning and was transported by car to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital.
The hospital is the same facility at which the Princess’s two elder children, 4-year-old George and 2-year-old Charlotte, were both born.

At 11:01 UK time, the 36-year-old gave birth to her third child — a boy.
Prince William upheld his role as doting dad by being in the delivery room when the 3.8 kilogram tot was born.
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs.
The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.
The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.
Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.

The new prince will be 5th in line to the throne after a new law on the Succession to the Crown Act came into effect in March 2015, meaning that older sister, Charlotte, will maintain her rank ahead of him.
Mom, dad, and baby have already left the hospital, giving us a tiny glimpse of the newborn.
With the little one only a few hours old, bookkeepers have already begun to speculate on what his name will be.
Arthur seems to be the favorite with odds of 6/1, followed by Albert and Phillip both at 11/1, and Frederick and James at 13/1.
Whatever the prince’s name may be, we’re doing a royal toast in his honor!
