The series, created by Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls) follows Jen (Applegate), a widow who’s set on solving her husband’s hit-and-run murder and Judy (Cardellini), a free spirit who’s recently suffered from her own loss.

The second season will pick off where Season 1 left off, with the aftermath of the bloody backyard reveal and Jen and Judy doing their best to keep their secrets and protect their loved ones at any cost, but a new visitor and Detective Perez (Diana Maria Riva) will try and get in their way.

James Marsden, Sam Mcarthy, and Brandon Scott also star in the series.

News that the dark comedy will be back for another season on the streaming giant was announced by series creator Liz Feldman on Monday. 

The series stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. It centers on Jen (Applegate), a sardonic widow determined to solve her husband’s recent hit-and-run murder, and Judy (Cardellini) an optimistic free spirit who has recently suffered her own tragic loss.

When the two women meet at a support group, they become unlikely friends, despite their polar-opposite personalities. But as they bond, Judy desperately tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it.

James Marsden, Ed Asner and Brandon Scott round out the cast. 

Season two of Dead to Me will consist of ten episodes and is scheduled to return in 2020.
