]]>Susan Rovner, chairman of entertainment content at Peacock’s parent company NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, described Community as the “iconic, hilarious and cool NBC comedy” and said they’re incredibly grateful to deliver the promised movie to its passionate fanbase, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television and Universal Television.
Community creator Dan Harmon is co-writing the script with Andrew Guest, while the cast will feature many familiar faces. Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong are officially returning, while Chevy Chase, Donald Glover, and Yvette Nicole Brown will most likely sit this one out after leaving the show in earlier seasons.
Community originally premiered on NBC in 2009 and moved to Yahoo! Screen for Season 6 after its original network announced its cancelation. It chronicled the daily lives of students at the fictional Greendale community college and built a passionate fan base thanks to its unique meta-humor and pop culture references.
