MTV Film and TV Awards are one of many award ceremonies put on hold this year, but they returned in a different format. This year’s event, MTV Film and TV Awards: Greatest of All Time, paid homage to the iconic movies and TV shows from the 80s to the present day.

Unlike the majority of other award ceremonies, this one wasn’t preceded by a full nominees list. All the winners were announced during the live socially distanced ceremony, hosted by Vanessa Hudgens. Neve Campbell, Lily Collins, and Derek Hough were amongst the stars tuning in to present.

The late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman was named as Hero for the Ages, while Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot received the She-Ro award. Kevin Hart took the GOAT award for Comedy Giant, while Jamie Lee Curtis was named as the most beloved Scream Queen.

MTV Film and TV Awards usually take place in the spring, between April and June, and they’re promising a “bigger and better than ever” ceremony in 2021. Its date is still a mystery since many other major ceremonies shifted their dates in the last few months.

Chadwick Boseman spent his career playing historical icons and changed the way we see superheroes with his ground-breaking role in Black Panther. His sudden death at age 43 left his co-stars and fans heartbroken, as many of them shared touching tributes celebrating his legacy.

Boseman’s family released an official statement announcing his passing and revealed he’s been battling colon cancer since 2016 when he was diagnosed with this illness. They described him as “a true fighter” and discovered he filmed some of his best films between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.

Boseman never shared his diagnosis with the world, and his sudden death was a huge shock for his fans and co-stars. Many Hollywood veterans, including his fellow Avengers Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., and Mark Ruffalo, posted touching tributes celebrating his life and legacy.

Disney CEO Bob Iger described Boseman as an extraordinary talent and a gentle soul and praised him for pushing boundaries with his role in the MCU.

“He brought enormous strength, dignity and depth to his groundbreaking role of Black Panther; shattering myths and stereotypes, becoming a long-awaited hero to millions around the world, and inspiring us all to dream bigger and demand more than the status quo,” said Iger in a statement.

Boseman’s big break came in 2013 when he portrayed baseball legend Jackie Robinson in sports drama 42. In addition to playing Black Panther in several Marvel movies, he starred in Get on Up, Marshall, 21 Bridges, and Da 5 Bloods. His final film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom will be released by Netflix later this year.

Just when we thought there is no person who could hate Avengers: Infinity War or its cast, Jimmy Kimmel decided to prove us wrong. The talk show host recently invited the majority of the Avengers: Infinity War cast to take part in the latest installment of his popular segment Mean Tweets. Titled Avengers Edition, the segment featured the cast members reading mean (and mostly insulting) tweets about themselves, which resulted in a hilarious and entertaining video.

Twitter users decided to really have it at the Avengers‘ stars, with one of them comparing Anthony Mackie (Falcon) to “a bug with buck teeth,” and other saying that Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier) “looks like a potato.”  Benedict Cumberbatch also got the taste of Twitter’s rudeness, since @Notorious_MAX wrote that the Doctor Strange star “always looks like he’s had an allergic reaction to bad shrimp.”

Twitter delivered when it was time for Captain America as well.

“Perhaps Chris Evans is in truth a great actor, but he plays Captain America like a big dumb hunk of s—,” @obstinatepupper wrote, and Evans found it so entertaining that he barely could finish the tweet.

Tom Hiddleston, Scarlett Johansson, Winston Duke, Elizabeth Olsen, Don Cheadle, Dave Bautista, Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Paul Rudd, Karen Gillan, Paul Bettany, Chadwick Boseman, and Chris Pratt also took part in the video.
