The Avengers franchise concluded earlier this year, but one question fans still want answered is why Captain Marvel barely made an appearance.

Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel was teased in the end credits of Avengers: Infinity War and was given her first stand-alone movie earlier this year. When it came to the final showdown, however, she was nowhere to be seen. Other than a brief appearance at the start of the movie and a last-minute swoop in towards the end, she was absent throughout.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, writers Cristopher Markus and Stephen McFeely explained why the superhero had such a small part in the Endgame events.

Markus revealed that the main problem they had with Captain Marvel was that she is far too powerful: “She was always going to be in it, but we didn’t have much to go on. They had cast her and that was it. It is a tough balance to strike when you have a character that powerful who you’re going to bring in, and you don’t want it to seem like, well we just brought in this person who can clean the house that we couldn’t clean in the previous movie.”

He added: “We had to decide on a balance between not making it feel like a cameo but not having her around so much that she solved all of the problems for everybody.”

McFeely also commented: “The point of the second movie was saying goodbye to the original six Avengers, so their stories were gonna be way up here… It was not fair to the other six Avengers to have Captain Marvel come in and solve all their problems, it didn’t seem like good storytelling.”

Captain Marvel to save the day!

We are fortunate enough to be getting two doses of the dynamic superheroine this year.

Brie Larson’s stand-alone film — the first solo feature starring a female Marvel character — has already made over $500 million worldwide, and now we have confirmation that she will be appearing in Avengers: Endgame.

The events of Avengers: Infinity War left many of our favorite characters in rather poor predicaments, thanks to Thanos.

The new trailer reflects the somber tone, with Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America, Thor, and Hawkeye all looking determined to avenge their fallen compatriots.

There is also indication that some new characters will be on the scene. Particularly Kate Bishop, who takes on the mantle of Hawkeye after Jeremy Renner’s character dies.

We wish them all luck when Avengers: Endgame hits screens on April 26th!

Everything begins with a hero.

And Captain Marvel is that hero.

Marvel has now released the latest full-length trailer for the forthcoming film featuring the female superhero.

The film is set amidst an intergalactic war between two alien worlds during 1995.

Being the origin story of US Air Force fighter pilot, Carol Danvers, she has numerous questions regarding her past — prior to becoming Captain Marvel — and is ably abetted by Samuel L. Jackson in figuring them out.

The trailer also introduces us to Mar-Vell played by Jude Law and a mysterious character portrayed by Annette Bening.

One thing is not a mystery though — Brie Larson’s portrayal of Captain Marvel is bad-ass, as can be seen in the trailer’s opening scene where she kicks butt on a bus.

Those villains won’t know what’s hit ‘em come 6 March 2019!
