In a recent interview with Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the director of Call Me by Your Name, Luca Guadagnino, said Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, and more of the cast will be returning for the sequel.

Not much else is known about the movie, but the novel which the movie is based on has a sequel titled Find Me, with the same characters taking place 10 years after the original story.

“Of course, it was a great pleasure to work with Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, Michael Stuhlbarg, Esther Garrel and the other actors. Everyone will be in the new movie,” Guadagnino told La Repubblica.

Call Me by Your Name took place in 1980s Italy and followed 17-year-old Elio Perlman (Chalamet), a student living with his parents, who falls in love with Oliver (Armie Hammer), a graduate student working for Elio’s father (Stuhlbarg). Throughout the summer the two grow closer, but Oliver moves back to the United States at the end of the summer and breaks off the relationship.

The work on the film has been on hold due to the coronavirus.

Call Me by Your Name earned four Oscar nominations, including best picture and best actor for Chalamet. Writer James Ivory won the award for best-adapted screenplay.
