After much rumor, hope, and—ahem—withdrawal, the Breaking Bad movie is finally happening and it has a title.

Vince Gilligan, the creator of the original series, is behind the film, which follows Aaron Paul’s character Jesse Pinkman after he escapes from the Aryan Brotherhood at the end of the show.

“It’s a chapter of Breaking Bad that I didn’t realize that I wanted,” he told the New York Times. “And now that I have it, I’m so happy that it’s there… All I can say, I think people will be really happy with what they see.”

The official title of the film is El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie and will debut on Netflix before later showing AMC.

You’ll get your fix on October 11th.

Breaking Bad withdrawal?

Earlier this year, it was revealed that a film version of the AMC series would be released.

The movie would serve as a follow-up to the television series, which ran between 2008 and 2013 and featured Bryan Cranston as high school chemistry teacher, Walter White, who begins cooking meth to pay for his cancer treatment.

The film is set to focus on the character played by Aaron Paul, Jesse Pinkman, and is scheduled to premiere on Netflix next year.

Breaking Bad star Bob Odendirk (Saul Goodman) has confirmed that the long-awaited movie is indeed happening.

“I don’t know what people know and don’t know. I find it hard to believe you don’t know it was shot. They did it. You know what I mean? How is that a secret? But it is. They’ve done an amazing job of keeping it a secret,” he said.

We can’t wait to get our fix!

We’ve got your latest fix…

Towards the end of last year, it was announced that a sequel to the AMC series was in the works.

The follow-up to the Emmy Award-winning show, which ran from 2008 to 2013, is expected to be in movie form and will be shown on both AMC and Netflix, where all 5 seasons of the series can currently be binged.

As for the cast, Aaron Paul has now been confirmed to reprise his role as Jesse Pinkman!

The focus of the film is likely to centre around the meth cook who has been kidnapped and must try to escape.

As of now, Bryan Cranston has not signed on to star as Walter White, but the Emmy Award-winner has previously expressed interest in revisiting the character.

Netflix subscribers will have first crack at the sequel when it debuts later this year, with AMC to air it after.

Breaking Bad, get ready to break the box office.

It may not quite have been 6 seasons and a movie, but a feature-length film is certainly on its way!

The creator of the award-winning series, Vince Gilligan, has confirmed that a movie is in the works, 5 years after saying goodbye to Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

Gilligan set and filmed Breaking Bad in Albuquerque, New Mexico throughout its 5 season run.

The New Mexico State Film Office has welcomed the movie news, saying: “For years, we’ve built up the film industry in New Mexico and strengthened our film incentives; now, we’re seeing success after success for the film industry in our state.”

The film is believed to be entitled Greenbrier, with production expected to take place between November and February.

It is not yet known whether the 2-hour long feature will be shown on big or small screen, but we will probably have to go through withdrawal all over again.
