Sex, drugs, rock ‘n roll—and a membership in the Hall of Fame.

Six musicians and groups all worth their rock salt (sorry) formed part of this year’s induction list into the renowned Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The 33rd annual ceremony was held at the Cleveland Public Auditorium on Saturday night and is scheduled to be broadcast on HBO on May 5th.

Solidifying their musical prowess as part of the 2018 class was Bon Jovi, who reunited to open the evening with an electrifying set that included “Shot Through the Heart” and “It’s My Life.”

Lead singer, Jon Bon Jovi, said in his speech, “I’ve been writing this speech since I first strummed a broom and sang at the top of the stairs of my childhood home. I’ve actually written it many ways, many times. Some days I write a thank you speech and other days, I write an (expletive)-you speech.”

The band’s fellow inductees included The Moody Blues, Dire Straits (whose frontman didn’t attend because “he didn’t feel like it”), Sister Rosetta Tharpe, The Cars, and Nina Simone.

Simone, who died in 2003, was honored with tributes from The Roots, Andra Day, and a surprise performance by Lauryn Hill.

What more can we say but “rock on!”
