The “Wind Beneath My Wings” singer is set to return to the Oscars stage as a performer at this year’s ceremony.

The 73-year-old songstress has been confirmed as the previously-teased “surprise special guest” who will perform “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from Mary Poppins Returns.

The song, which is nominated for Best Original Song, was not originally scheduled to be performed, as only two songs would be sung in a bid to shorten the telecast.

Backlash from many within the industry prompted The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to reverse the decision, meaning that all 5 nominees will now be performed.

Bette will be joined on stage by friend Marc Shaiman, who wrote “The Place Where Lost Things Go.”

“As a child of the ’60s, I grew up obsessed with the Mary Poppins soundtrack, learning everything about songwriting and film scoring from it,” Shaiman wrote on Facebook. “As a teenager in the ’70s, I became obsessed with new star Bette Midler, who fate amazingly led me to, resulting in our 40-year relationship. Could I have ever imagined that one day Bette Midler would sing a song I co-wrote with Scott Wittman for a sequel to Mary Poppins at the Academy Awards?! My heart is exploding.”

The song will compete against “I’ll Fight” from RBG, “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings” from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, “All the Stars” from Black Panther, and “Shallow” from A Star Is Born.

It’s official — Bette Midler has announced that she is joining the Hocus Pocus reunion special.

Almost a month after Freeform announced that they’re reuniting all three sisters to honor the iconic film’s 25th anniversary, Midler has confirmed that she’s joining the fun. 

“Wait, wait a minute,” Midler said in a video posted on the network’s YouTube page, “What’s a Sanderson sister celebration without Winifred?” she asked with a smile. The 72-tear-old actress then shared the video on Twitter writing, WHAT A HOOT!!  JOIN US AS “WE FLY!” 

Midler will join Kathy Najimy and Sarah for the movie’s Anniversary Reunion Bash. The special is hosted by Vanessa Hudgens and Jordan Fisher and will air October 20 as part of Freedom’s 31 of Nights of Halloween lineup.
