When his character died on screen, audience reactions varied from happy smiles to loud cheers. Nevertheless, many people will probably still be glad to see Jack Gleeson’s face back on their screens.

The 27-years-old actor, who portrayed King Joffrey on HBO’s mega hit series Game of Thrones, is making a comeback to TV in an upcoming BBC2 comedy.

Gleeson will appear in Sara Pascoe’s upcoming comedy, Out of Her Mind, which will consist of six half-hour episodes and is yet to have an air date. Alongside Gleeson, the series will star, among others, Pascoe herself, rapper Scroobius Pip, and Peep Show‘s Cariad Lloyd.

Pascoe defined Out of Her Mind as a direct expression of her mind: “We’ve turned my brain into a theme-park, and everyone’s invited! The cast are INCREDIBLE and I can’t wait for people to see what we’ve made.”

Gleeson, who is currently studying philosophy and theology at Trinity College in Dublin, said after leaving Game of Thrones that he is considering leaving the acting world: “Once the prospect of becoming an actor professionally, and essentially my dreams, became a reality, well it nearly professionalises it too much.”

Obviously, he has changed his mind since then.

BBC’s newest drama is set to take a page out of the newspaper.

The broadcaster is developing a series inspired by the attempted assassination of two Russians which occurred in the English town of Salisbury last year.

Former double agent, Serge Skripal, and his daughter Yulia were both poisoned by a nerve agent named Novichok and admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

The pair survived, but the incident caused a diplomatic fall-out between Britain and Russia, with the former accusing the latter.

Saul Dibb will helm the three-part series that is scheduled to star Anne-Marie Duff, Rafe Spall, Mark Addy, Annabel Scholey, Johnny Harris, and MyAnna Buring.

“It’s a privilege to be able to tell the story of people who were deeply affected by the events in Salisbury,” said series writers Adam Patterson and Declan Lawn. “During our months of research, we have been humbled to hear their stories and to be able to tell them in this drama.”

The drama is expected to focus on the impact which the incident had on the local community and the reaction of ordinary people.
