He also dominated the R&B categories, with wins for Top R&B artist, Top R&B male artist, Top R&B album, and Top R&B song. He owes three of his song awards to his chart-topping hit “Blinding Lights”.
Pop Smoke came in second with five awards and pulled one of the biggest upsets of the night. He managed to beat the likes of The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, Juice Wrld, and Lil Baby to win the award for the top Billboard 200 album with Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon.
BTS and Bad Bunny also had a reason to celebrate after walking away with four awards each, while Gabby Barrett was right behind with three. Drake collected the honorary Artist of the Decade Award, while Pink walked away with Icon Award.
The 2021 Billboard Music Awards were held at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on May 23rd, with Nick Jonas hosting the ceremony.
