Idris Elba has always been cool, but now the British actor is being praised for being moral, too.

It has been just over a year since the #MeToo movement came into existence, with many men in Hollywood being exposed for sexual harassment and other male stars criticizing the campaign for dividing the sexes.

During a recent interview with The Sunday Times, the Luther star was asked whether it is difficult being a man in the industry amidst the current #MeToo climate.

“It’s only difficult if you’re a man with something to hide,” replied the 46-year-old.

Idris’ response has been praised by women in the industry, including Shonda Rhimes and Ava DuVernay.

The Grey’s Anatomy creator retweeted the article with a simple, “See?”

Meanwhile, the director of A Wrinkle in Time stated, “Preach, brother. Preach.”

We’re applauding you too, Idris.

There is no point denying that gender pay discrepancy is a real thing in Hollywood.

Only a few months ago it was revealed that Claire Foy who plays Queen Elizabeth II on The Crown was being paid less than her consort, Matt Smith.

Westworld actress, Evan Rachel Wood, also detailed that from season 3 she would receive the same pay as her male counterparts which, she says, has “never, never” happened before.

Dozens of actors and filmmakers including This Is Us stars, Sterling K. Brown and Mandy Moore, veteran actress Jane Fonda, Black Monday actor Don Cheadle, and director of Selma, Ava DuVernay, have signed an open letter to Hollywood addressing the issue.

“There is an egregious wage gap for historically female-majority crafts,” the letter stated. “It’s time for the Entertainment Industry to take a hard look at its pay and compensation practices above and below the line to make sure all productions meet the legal ― and moral ― requirement to pay fairly without discrimination.”

According to Forbes, the highest-earning actors in Hollywood between June 2017 and 2017 earned a combined total of $748.5 million compared to their female counterparts with $186 million.

The last one has flown over the cuckoo’s next.

Milos Forman, who directed One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, has passed away.

Forman was born in then-Czechoslovakia in 1932 and raised by two of his uncles and family friends after both his parents perished in Nazi concentration camps.

During his 48 year directing career, Forman won two Academy Awards for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in 1975 and Amadeus in 1984.

His wife of 19 years, Martina Zbořilová, confirmed that her husband passed away in the United States on Friday at age 86 following a brief illness.

“His departure was calm, and he was surrounded the whole time by his family and his closest friends,” she said.

Forman has been remembered by fellow directors such as Baby Driver’s Edgar Wright, who claims to have watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest “enough times to mouth along silently.”

Trainwreck director Judd Apatow said Forman’s death was “a big loss to the world.”

Ava DuVernay, who directed A Wrinkle in Time, said she would be watching Ragtime in his honor.

Genius star Antonio Banderas called Forman a “master in the portrayal of the human condition.”

While Josh Gad from Murder on the Orient Express stated that the late filmmaker’s resume deserved to be alongside the greats.

Bravo indeed.
