Aretha Franklin will grace our screens one more time.

46 years after being filmed, a documentary about the icon is finally set to be seen by audiences.

The late director Sydney Pollack filmed the RESPECT singer in concert over two consecutive evenings at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles in 1972 for what would become Amazing Grace.

The film’s release was delayed due to audio issues but eventually finished by producer Alan Elliot who planned to release the documentary at the 2015 Telluride Film Festival before Aretha put a stop to plans as a result of a rights dispute.

With the Queen of Soul passing away in August, her estate reached an agreement allowing the film to be shown to the public for the first time.

Amazing Grace will thus feature as part of the DOC NYC lineup next week, as well a limited theatrical release which will allow it to contend in the Best Documentary category at the 2019 Academy Awards.

We’ll say a little prayer for it.

Aretha Franklin is set to receive a tribute worthy of A Natural Woman of her caliber.

The Queen of Soul passed away on the 16th of August at the age of 76 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

She is expected to be laid to rest on the 31st of August at the Greater Grace Church in Detroit.

Aretha’s publicist has now confirmed that a star-studded line-up will perform at the 18-time Grammy Award winner’s funeral, including Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Faith Hill, Chaka Khan, Ron Isley, Fantasia, and Yolanda Adams.

Wonder was amongst the few who visited Miss Franklin just days prior to her death when reports revealed that she was gravely ill, while Jennifer is expected to portray a young Aretha in a forthcoming biopic.

The funeral will be limited to friends and family, but the public will have an opportunity to pay their respect to the late singer when her casket will up for viewing at Detroit’s Museum of African-American History in the days leading up to the ceremony.

Madonna has something to say.

Twitter has not been kind to the 60-year-old this week, so she has now taken to social media to defend herself.

At the MTV Video Music Awards which took place on Monday night, the Queen of Pop paid tribute to the recently deceased Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

At least that’s what we thought was happening…

But, Madge has now set the record straight.

In response to many who claimed that her “tribute” was self-indulgent and only briefly made mention of Aretha whilst detailing a story of how she had performed A Natural Woman during an audition, Madonna declared the following:

“Just to clarify,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of Havana singer, Camila Cabello. “I was asked to present video of the year by MTV! And then they asked me to share any anecdotes I had in my career connected to Aretha Franklin! I shared a part of my journey and thanked Aretha for inspiring me along the way. I did not intend to do a tribute to her! That would be impossible in 2 minutes with all the noise and tinsel of an award show. I could never do her justice in this context or environment.”

So, papa, don’t preach.
