The film from 20th Century Fox is based on the true story that took place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.

Matt Damon and Christian Bale play American car designer Carroll Shelby and British-born driver Kevin Miles, respectively.

The pair teamed up to build a revolutionary race car for the Ford Motor Company that was capable of beating Ferrari at the 1966 race.

The first full trailer for the film sees Shelby asked what kind of car it would take to beat Ferrari, with Damon’s character answering that it needs a pure driver behind the wheel.

The movie depicts the internal battles Shelby and Miles had to face, including corporate interference, the laws of physics, and their own personal demons.

Ford v Ferrari premieres on November 15th.
