The post “Euphoria” Season 3 is Still Targeting 2025 Release Amid Another Delay appeared first on TheDailyDay.
]]>After rumors about HBO scrapping the show’s third season emerged online, the network released a statement assuring fans there was no truth to them. “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” reads the official statement, but everything’s not exactly going according to plan.
Despite HBO’s reassurance, there’s still a lot of uncertainty surrounding Season 3 and the start of production has been pushed to a later date. Creator Sam Levinson is still in the process of finalizing the script, while HBO has given the show’s cast freedom to explore other projects in the meantime.
This is a sound decision on HBO’s side since its cast includes some of Hollywood’s most promising young stars. Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer all did great things outside of this series, while Colman Domingo is fresh off receiving his first Oscar nod.
Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, Nika King, and Storm Reid were also a part of the Euphoria ensemble in the first two seasons, alongside Barbie Ferreira and the late Angus Cloud. HBO is still targeting the 2025 release date despite the most recent delay.

]]>The post 2024 BAFTA TV Awards: “The Crown” Leads the Way With Eight Nods appeared first on TheDailyDay.
]]>The Crown owes most of its nominations to its amazing cast, with Dominic West, Elizabeth Debecki, Lesley Manville, and Salim Daw all receiving nominations in their respective categories. It also received nods for several craft awards, including costume design, makeup and hair design, sound, and special, visual, and graphic effects.
Despite topping the list of nominees, the final season of The Crown failed to receive a nod for the best drama series. The Gold, Happy Valley, Slow Horses, and Top Boy made the cut instead.
The latest season of Black Mirror added seven more nominations for Netflix with the episode “Demon 79”. It’s been nominated for the best limited drama, while its star Anjana Vasan scored a nod for the best leading actress. Black Mirror secured the rest of its five nods in the craft field.
The 2024 British Academy Television Awards will return to the Royal Festival Hall in London on May 12, and the host is yet to be announced.

]]>The post “Avatar: The Last Airbender” is Coming Back for Season 2 & 3 on Netflix appeared first on TheDailyDay.
]]>Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place in a world divided into four nations, whose harmony was destroyed after the Fire Nation chose to rebel against the status quo. It’s now up to the twelve-year-old Aang to restore the balance between the nations and fulfill his destiny as the next Avatar, who has the power to control all four elements.
Gordon Cormier led The Last Airbender cast as Aang, and he was joined by Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, Ken Leung as Commander Zhao, and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai.
The quick renewal of this live-action anime doesn’t come as a shocker, since it attracted 21.2 million viewers and 154.4 million hours watched during its debut week to top Netflix’s global TV chart. The streamer renewed it for two more seasons, but they’re also planning to conclude this story with Season 3, sticking to the formula that proved successful with the original anime series.

In the meantime, Janine Teagues (Quinta Brunson) is trying to prove to everyone she can be edgy while doing her best to get over her crush on Gregory (Tyler James Williams). The rest of Abbott’s teachers and crew (Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, William Stanford Davis, and Sheryl Lee Ralph) are doing their best to deal with Ava’s erratic behavior.
Josh Segarra (The Other Two), Kimia Behpoornia (Hacks), and Benjamin Norris (Never Have I Ever) will also join the show’s cast in the highly-anticipated third season, which is set to premiere on ABC on February 7, with two brand-new episodes.

]]>Slow Horses draws inspiration from Mick Herron’s Slough House spy novels and centers on a team of dysfunctional MI5 agents trying to defend England from sinister forces. Here’s what the show’s upcoming fifth season has in store, according to Apple TV’s official logline:
“Everyone is suspicious when resident tech nerd Roddy Ho has a glamorous new girlfriend, but when a series of increasingly bizarre events occur across the city, it falls to the Slow Horses to work out how everything is connected.”
The Oscar winner Gary Oldman leads the series in the role of the notorious Jackson Lamb—and he’s in pretty good company. The show’s cast also includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan, and Jonathan Pryce.
Slow Horses will return for its fourth season in late 2024, and it’s expected to feature a few new faces once it comes back, starting with Hugo Weaving, Joanna Scanlan, and Ruth Bradley.

]]>Based on Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s 2014 film of the same name, What We Do in the Shadows offered a fun new twist on the vampire lore. Like the original film, it centered on a group of centuries-old vampires trying to navigate the complexities of the modern world, but it shifted focus to brand-new characters.
This fan-favorite series took us to New York City’s Staten Island and saw Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak), Leslie “Laszlo” Cravensworth (Matt Berry), Nadja of Antipaxos (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) clashing with the modern world and other supernatural creatures.
What We Do in the Shadows was created for FX by Clement, and it became quite a hit following its premiere in 2019. In addition to winning over the fans and critics, it also received 21 Emmy nods, including two in the coveted outstanding comedy series category.
FX is yet to announce the release date for the sixth and final season of What We Do in the Shadows, but it will most likely feature 10 episodes like the previous five.

]]>House of the Dragon kicked off with King Viserys on the throne, and his first-born daughter Rhaenyra Targaryen as his heir apparent, but the atmosphere shifted as the episodes went by. The first season concluded with King Viserys’s death and Rhaenyra’s claim for the Iron Throne in jeopardy.
Queen Alicent Hightower conspired to have her son Aegon II Targaryen crowned as King Viserys’s successor, but not everyone in the Seven Kingdoms accepted this decision idly. Rhaenyra decided to fight for what’s rightfully hers, kicking off the war of succession known as the Dance of the Dragons.
Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy will lead Season 2 as Alicent and Rhaenyra, and they’ll be joined by Matt Smith, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, and Tom Glynn-Carney, along with several new cast members including Gayle Rankin, Simon Russell Beale, Freddie Fox, and Abubakar Salim.
HBO ordered eight new episodes of the second season of House of the Dragon, set to premiere in mid-2024.

]]>Oppenheimer walked away with the biggest award of the night: the outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. Its stars Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. came out victorious in their respective fields, bringing the film’s total to three awards
It was also a big night for the acclaimed culinary dramedy The Bear, which collected three trophies. In addition to winning the award for outstanding performance by an ensemble, its stars Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri received individual honors for their roles.
Winners were harder to predict in the drama field, but the final season of Succession still managed to collect the trophy for the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series. Its cast members, however, failed to win any individual awards, losing to Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) and Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown).

]]>Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows the 12-year-old demigod as he comes to terms with his newfound powers. His life turns upside down after Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt, and Percy must do whatever it takes to restore order to Olympus.
Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri lead the series as Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood. The show’s supporting cast is pretty epic and includes the likes of Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jay Duplass, and Lance Reddick.
Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, confirmed the show’s renewal and said they’re thrilled to embark on an exciting new quest with Rick Riordan, their partners at 20th Television, and the show’s exceptional ensemble of cast and creative talent.
Riordan echoed her statement, saying he can’t wait to bring the next season of Percy Jackson to Disney+ and head for the Sea of Monsters with our brave heroes.

]]>Things are never peaceful at Abbott, but they’re about to get even messier in the third season thanks to the school’s principal Ava (Janelle James). She decided to change her ways after attending a course at Harvard over the summer, but her attempts to be good at her job are only making things worse for everyone at Abbott.

]]>The post Apple TV+ Renews Spy Series “Slow Horses” For Its Fifth Season appeared first on TheDailyDay.

]]>The post “What We Do in the Shadows” is Ending After Six Seasons appeared first on TheDailyDay.
